I am delighted to share that I have been awarded an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Department of Politics and International Studies at SOAS University of London, starting in February 2026.

This fellowship will allow me to turn my PhD into a book manuscript and deepen my work on the political economy of China’s South-South relations and local agency through the case of Uzbekistan-China ties.
If you want a preview of a part of the book, please read my latest publication on Globalizations, available in open access: here.
I’ll also have the chance to refine my datasets and develop my methodological agenda, as always in collaboration with Dr Claudia Roberta Combei, University of Rome Tor Vergata.
Finally, as part of the fellowship, I will be visiting the Program on Central Asia, based at Harvard University’s Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies, and directed by Dr Nargis Kassenova.
I am especially grateful to Ariadna García Llorente and Sally D. for their guidance throughout the application process, and to my future mentor, Dr Bhavna Davé, for her support for this project.
I look forward to joining SOAS’s research community!
